Jane Peyton Biography

Jane is the Principal of School of Booze. She is fascinated by the cultural history of alcohol and is an enthusiastic tutor, advising people how to appreciate beer, wine, cider and spirits by understanding how they are made and employing the principles of tasting – look, smell, taste, swallow.

Jane trained through the Wine & Spirit Education Trust, and is a tutor at the Beer Academy. She has been practicing the art of tasting since, as a student in Leeds, she was converted to cask beer after drinking a pint of Timothy Taylor’s Landlord Ale. Nirvana!

Jane is the author of several non fiction books including Pub Scene, Looking up in London  (published by Wiley & Sons), and Brilliant Britain (published by Summersdale).

Jane is also the founder of Operalicious ®; a set of unique opera events where the food & drink served is themed according to the opera and complemented by a professional opera singer.
